Happy Holidays! A merry Squig

I associate the holidays with red, green and gold ornaments. Since squigs are traditionally red in color and bauble-like in shape, I took the season as an opportunity to paint one and hone my squig-painting skills. I think it's a bit more interesting than my past gnarly squigs – the holiday squig from 2 years ago and the two squigs I painted for my vintage Zarbag's Gitz – and it's still red enough to count as a classic squig. Zdarza mi się czasem o tej porze roku zmieścić coś okołoświątecznego. Nie inaczej jest tym razem. Za sprawą Maniexa i zaproponowanego przezeń tematu Figurkowego Karnawału Blogowego - „Ale bombka” - postanowiłem pomalować squiga: bombkowego w kształcie i świątecznego w wydźwięku (bo uśmiechniętego od ucha do ucha i jak na mnie mało szarego, a do tego sfotografowanego na jednej z fotek w odpowiednim anturażu). Wesołych Świąt!

The Blood of the Bull - Marudok

Marudok is the third model from The Blood of the Bull warband. In my opinion, it’s an accurate adaptation of old-school Chaos Dwarves, updated to the current scale, level of detail, and overall "seriousness".

The Blood of the Bull - Imnidrin

I'm starting my next Warhammer Underworlds warband, the new Chaos Dwarves team called „The Blood of the Bull”. To keep the banner from covering the face (like it did in the case of the original mini), I mixed Imnidrin with the November miniature of the month — a warrior from the Infernal Cohort.

Lęcę z kolejną bandą do WHU. Tym razem nowa ChaDecja. Żeby - inaczej niż w przypadku oryginalnego modelu - sztandar nie zasłaniał twarzy, wymieszałem Imnidrin z listopadową figurką miesiąca - wojownikiem Piekielnej Kohorty. Podoba mi się, że wyszła trochę jak mroczny paladyn :D

The Emberwatch

Those who would plunder the mines beneath the Ashenmont are liable to be set upon the tireless immortals of the Emberwatch: its deft leader roaming from plains of Aqshy, Ardorn Flamerunner;  Farasa Twice-risen, bringing death from the dark with her twin blades; and Yurik Velzaine, able to alter enchanted ammunition of his crossbow at his command. The Emberwatch roil in the depths like a thunderhead, stealing upon foes with terrible swiftness.

Zondara's Gravebreakers - Cracktomb & Pikk

In between other projects, I converted and painted two zombies from Warhammer Underworlds Zondara's Gravebreakers warband. Cracktomb was originally armed with a hammer and a chisel, and Pikk - well - with a pick. I wanted to save the equipment for a future dreg body snatchers project and for some Sigmarites, so I gave the zombies hands from the Deadwalker Zombies box. Pikk’s original hair sculpt was a bit clunky,  so I covered it with cotton-swab fibres using Dark Ages Workshop's method. Enjoy!

W związku z zaproponowanym przez Bahiora z the Dark Oak listopadowym tematem Figurkowego Karnawału Blogowego - „Wnętrze” - odkopałem (hehe) zombiaczki z underworldsowej ekipy Zondara's Gravebreakers. Kluczowe było dla mnie, że mamy tu bezpośredni wgląd w ich wnętrze - pod skórę czaszki i w klatkę piersiową. 

Ze względu na fakt, że zgodnie z fluffem pomagają tytułowej nekromantce wdzierać się do wnętrz krypt i sarkofagów, oryginalnie ludziki były wyposażone w kilof, młotek i dłuto. Chcąc zachować te sprzęty na potrzeby przyszłych dregowych i sigmarowych konwersji, zdecydowałem się dać Cracktombowi i Pikk ręce z pudełka Deadwalker Zombies, odpowiadające raczej dążeniom do dobrania się do wnętrz czaszek.
